How We Met...
It all started at a "Caddy Shack" mixer between ATO and KKG on October 22, 2003. The next night, ATO was hosting its annual Halloween Date Party, and Clay was in desperate need of a date. He thought this mixer would be the perfect place to find a last-minute date for the party. He mentioned his dilema to fraternity brother Scott Brown, who then told his girlfriend DeAnna. She quickly thought of someone and disappeared into the crowd of dancing Kappas. It took her a few minutes to convince Aimee to go to the Date Party with a complete stranger, but trusting that De wouldn't set her up with anyone too strange, Aimee agreed to go. The two were introduced, and after a dance or two, phone numbers were exchanged in anticipation for the following night.
Clay left the mixer extremely happy to have found a date, and a pretty one at that. Aimee left wondering what she had just agreed to and why this guy couldn't find a date until the night before the party. They were both excited to see how it would go.
The next afternoon, Clay worked up his nerve and called Aimee to discuss their costume options for that night's Halloween Party. Clay happened to have a purple suite, and a cat costume was pretty easy to round up on Aimee's sorority dorm hallway, so they decided to go as Cat Woman and The Joker.
The costumes turned out great, and Clay and Aimee hit it off better than either could have imagined. They danced all night until the DJ stopped playing and they were kicked off the dance floor!
